Join Us for a Day of Advocacy and Engagement

Enhance your advocacy skills and connect with Florida legislators to discuss issues affecting the practice of physical therapy. Participate in in-depth training, networking events, and office visits with decision-makers at the Capitol.

  • Venue: Aloft Tallahassee Downtown
  • Capitol Address: 400 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL
  • Cost: Free for FPTA Members (Eligible for travel reimbursement up to $275)
  • Student Registration: Limited availability; applications subject to review before confirmation.

Tuesday, January 21, 2025

  • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Advocacy Training
    • Legislative Update with Aimee Diaz-Lyon & Jim Daughton, MHD
    • How to Communicate with Legislators and Staff – Interactive Exercise
  • 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Networking Reception hosted by Metz, Husband, and Daughton, P.A. Click here for Map
  • 7:00 PM: Dinner on Your Own

Wednesday, January 22, 2025

  • 7:00 AM: Breakfast at Aloft Tallahassee Downtown
  • 7:30 AM: Walk to Capitol
  • 8:00 AM: House or Senate Chambers Session (Speaker TBA)
  • 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Office Visits with Legislators and Staff
  • 12:00 PM: Return to Aloft for Box Lunch
  • 1:00 PM: Departure
